How to make Apple Cider in Home?
Apple cider is the most important ingredient in Apple Cider Mocktail, And If you prepared this cider once then you can store it and use it. The home-made apple cider if it is stored in a refrigerator can be stored for 7-10 days. Preparing apple cider at home is very easy with minimal ingredients.
Preparing mixture: Have about 8-10 apples with sweet and tart varieties. Wash them thoroughly so that all the dirt gets removed and cut them with peels (As it contains pectin, which helps to give cider a texture and flavor).
Adding water and boiling: Add a decent amount of water until it covers all the pieces and then add a decent amount of brown sugar (about ½ cup for 10 Apples) and cinnamon sticks (2 small pieces) as well. Then Boil this mixture in low heat for about 90 minutes to 2 hrs by stirring it occasionally.
Mashing & Storing: Use a potato masher and mash the pieces as they soften. You can also do it simply with the back of the spoon. After boiling keep the mixture aside and let the cider cool slightly. Once the mixture gets cooled use a fine sieve or a cheesecloth to get the solid particles separate by pressing the mixture to the extent possible. Then fill this liquid in the bottle and can be stored in a refrigerator.
